Short answer: Nandrolone decanoate has a half-life of about 8 days (Bagchus WM et al. 2005) and reaches steady state after about 40 days (~5.7 weeks) of regular dosing. Levels peak about 2.5 days after an injection into muscle. On a weekly schedule the model builds up to about 2.2× a single dose, with a peak-to-trough swing of about 1.77:1.
The US nandrolone decanoate label gives 100 to 200 mg per week for men with anemia of kidney failure. The chart holds 100 mg weekly. Source: Nandrolone decanoate injection USP (Watson Laboratories) label. Bioavailability 100% as in the app. Dashed line: 5 half-lives. Change the amount or schedule in the calculator.
Levels peak about 2.5 days after an injection into muscle. The chart follows the app: for an oil injection into muscle it counts what is still in the injection depot plus what is in blood, so the modeled total is highest right after each shot and then falls as the depot releases and the body clears it.
With regular dosing at a fixed amount and interval, levels climb toward steady state by the same fraction every half-life, whatever the dose. At a half-life of about 8 days:
| Share of steady state | Half-lives | Time |
|---|---|---|
| 50% | 1 | 8 days |
| 75% | 2 | 16 days |
| 90% | 3.3 | 27 days (~3.8 weeks) |
| 97% (Dose Track's steady-state rule) | 5 | 40 days (~5.7 weeks) |
The longer the gap between doses compared with the half-life, the bigger the swing from peak to trough and the less the levels build up. These ratios do not depend on the amount.
| Interval | Peak : trough | Build-up vs one dose |
|---|---|---|
| Daily | 1.08 : 1 | 12.05× |
| Every other day | 1.17 : 1 | 6.29× |
| Twice weekly | 1.33 : 1 | 3.82× |
| Weekly | 1.77 : 1 | 2.2× |
| Every 2 weeks | 3.18 : 1 | 1.42× |
Build-up is the accumulation ratio 1 / (1 − e−k·τ), with k = ln 2 / half-life and τ the interval.
After the last dose, about half is gone every 8 days. After 5 half-lives, about 40 days (~5.7 weeks), roughly 97% has cleared in the model.
The US label gives no half-life. In healthy men given a single injection into muscle of 50, 100 or 150 mg (Bagchus 2005), the terminal half-life was 7 to 12 days and blood levels peaked about 30 hours after 50 or 100 mg and 72 hours after 150 mg. Dose Track uses 8 days and 60 hours, inside those ranges. Another study (Minto 1997) found that peak levels depend on injection site and volume, with the highest levels after a 1 mL injection into the buttock.
The curve uses the half-life, time to peak, route and bioavailability built into the Dose Track app for nandrolone decanoate, and the same one-compartment model with first-order absorption. These are modeled estimates from published half-lives, drawn with the same one-compartment model as the Dose Track app. Real levels vary from person to person, and only a lab test measures them. This is not medical advice and not a dosing recommendation; dosing decisions belong with you and your prescriber.
