Short answer: Store Sogroya pens in the fridge at 36-46°F (2-8°C), cap on, in the carton, before and during use. After first use, use within 6 weeks. If needed, a pen may be out of the fridge at up to 77°F (25°C) for a total of 72 hours (3 days), then go back in. Discard it if it froze or was kept above 86°F (30°C). | Stage | Refrigerated 36-46°F (2-8°C) | Room temperature up to 77°F (25°C) |
|---|---|---|
| Before first use | Until the expiration date | Maximum 72 hours (3 days) |
| After first use | Up to 6 weeks | Maximum 72 hours (3 days) |
Footnote to Table 14: “The total time allowed at room temperature (up to 25°C [77°F]) is 72 hours (3 days) regardless of whether the product is in-use (opened) or before first use (unopened). Must discard if kept above 30°C (86°F).”
Sogroya (somapacitan) is a once-weekly growth hormone. See the HGH page for context.
Section 16: “Do not freeze. Do not use SOGROYA if it has been frozen. Discard prefilled pen if kept above 30°C (86°F).” The Instructions for Use also say to throw it away if it was stored above 77°F (25°C) for more than 3 days.
Sogroya can be out of the fridge for up to 72 hours in total at up to 77°F (25°C), which covers a weekend trip. For longer trips, bring an insulated bag and cold packs that do not touch the pen.
