Short answer: Store Ngenla pens in the fridge at 36-46°F (2-8°C) in the carton before first use, and in the fridge between uses afterward, for up to 28 days. The label says do not freeze or shake it, do not expose it to heat, and keep it out of direct sunlight. Write the first-use date on the pen label. Source: Ngenla label, section 16.
Section 16: “Before first use: Store refrigerated at 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C) in the original carton to protect from light. After first use: Store the pen refrigerated at 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C) between each use, for up to 28 days. Do not freeze or shake. Do not expose to heat. Do not use if it has been frozen.”
| Stage | Storage | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Before first use | Refrigerator 36-46°F (2-8°C), in the carton | Until the expiration date |

| Frozen or heat-exposed | Do not use |
The Instructions for Use: “You can use your pen straight from the refrigerator. For a more comfortable injection, leave your pen at room temperature for up to 30 minutes.” Remove the needle, recap, and put it back in the fridge. Throw it away when empty or 28 days after first use, even with medicine left.
Ngenla (somatrogon) is a once-weekly growth hormone. See the HGH page for context.
The Instructions for Use list when not to use the pen: if it has been frozen or exposed to heat, has been dropped, looks broken or damaged, or it has been more than 28 days since first use. The label gives no room-temperature allowance beyond the 30-minute warm-up.
Ngenla has no room-temperature storage option, so it travels cold: insulated bag, cold packs that do not touch the pen, fridge on arrival.
