Short answer: On your old phone, go to Settings › Account and tap Send to a new phone. On the new phone, install Dose Track, sign in to the same account and tap Bring it over. It is free, with or without Pro.
Before you start: Keep your old phone for a few minutes. You need a Dose Track account, signed in on both phones (see create an account).
Steps
- On the old phone: open AccountOpen the Profile tab, scroll to the bottom and tap Settings. Tap Account.
- Send your dataUnder Move to a new phone, tap Send to a new phone. When it says Ready on your new phone, the encrypted copy is waiting.
- On the new phone: sign inInstall Dose Track, then go to Profile › Settings › Create account or sign in and sign in with the same Apple, Google or email account.
- Bring it overRight after sign-in the app asks Bring over your data?. Tap Bring it over.
- Missed the prompt?On the new phone, open Settings › Account and tap Receive from my old phone.
How the transfer works
The data is encrypted with your password the same way as a backup. It is deleted after 24 hours, or as soon as your new phone receives it, whichever comes first.
Receiving adds the data to the new phone. Anything already there stays.
If it does not show up
- Nothing yet. The new phone found no transfer. Tap Send to a new phone on the old phone first, then try again.
- More than 24 hours passed? The transfer was deleted. Send it again.
- Check both phones are signed in to the same account email (shown under Signed in as).
- If the new phone asks you to unlock, enter your password (or backup password for Apple and Google accounts).
Other ways to move: with Pro, restore your automatic backup on the new phone (backup and restore), or export a backup file on the old phone and use Restore Backup on the new one (export your data).
Do I need Pro to move to a new phone?+
No. Send to a new phone is free for everyone with a Dose Track account.
How long does the transfer wait for me?+
Up to 24 hours. It is deleted after that, or as soon as the new phone receives it.
Does Pro move to my new phone too?+
Pro comes from your App Store or Google Play account, not your Dose Track account. On the new phone, sign in to the same store account and tap RESTORE on the upgrade screen.
