Recording how you mixed a vial

Dose Track for iPhone and Android · Updated

Short answer: When you mix a powder vial, enter its Total MG and the Total ML of water you added on the vial's edit page. Dose Track works out the strength and shows mL and syringe units for each dose you log. It records the numbers you enter. It does not recommend doses.

Before you start: Add the vial to your inventory first. See vials and inventory.

Steps

  1. Find the sealed vialOpen the Tracker tab and tap Stock in the inventory section.
  2. Tap ReconstituteOn a sealed powder vial, tap Reconstitute. This opens the vial's edit page.
  3. Enter what you mixedEnter Total MG (the amount printed on the vial) and Total ML (the full liquid volume after you added bacteriostatic water). The page shows the strength, for example Concentration: 2.5 mg/ml.
  4. Make it the active vialTurn on Use this as the active container so doses you log come off this vial. The app will not let you make a powder vial active until both numbers are filled in.
  5. SaveTap Save. From now on the log sheet shows how much to draw for the dose you enter.

Mixing help

The Reconstitution Helper shows on a sealed vial's edit page and works out the strength from the numbers you enter.

There is also a Smart Reconstitution tool: open the Dashboard, tap Tools, then Smart Reconstitution. It lists mix options from the vial size and dose you enter, and you pick one to save it as a vial. The first time is free. After that, saving a vial from this tool needs Pro.

The app records the vial details you enter. It does not recommend or prescribe doses. Follow your prescriber or pharmacist on how much to take and how to mix it. To try the numbers on the web, use the free peptide reconstitution calculator.

Mixing from the log sheet

If your active vial runs out and the next one is still sealed, the log sheet says Reconstitute your next vial to complete this dose and links to that vial. If the medication has no strength set, it says Reconstitute the vial to see units in your syringe.

Frequently asked questions

Is Dose Track a dosage calculator?+
No. It records the vial details and doses you enter and shows the matching volume. It does not tell you how much to take.
What does Total ML mean?+
The full liquid volume in the vial after you added water. For a 10 mg vial mixed with 2 mL, Total MG is 10 and Total ML is 2.
Does recording a mix need Pro?+
No. Entering Total MG and Total ML on a vial is free. Only saving vials from the Smart Reconstitution tool needs Pro after the first one.
