How the Wellbeing score works

Dose Track for iPhone and Android · Updated

Short answer: Tap the round Dashboard button at the bottom of the screen and choose Wellbeing. The Today tab shows one score from 0 to 100. It is the average of the signals you actually logged in the last 7 days: sleep, water, energy and sleep quality. With nothing logged, there is no score.

Steps

  1. Open WellbeingTap the round Dashboard button at the bottom of the screen, then tap Wellbeing. It has three tabs: Today, Lifestyle and Wellness.
  2. Start loggingIf you have not logged anything, Today shows Build your Wellbeing score. Tap Sleep or Hydration to go to Lifestyle, or Daily check-in to go to Wellness.
  3. Read the scoreOnce you log, the ring shows your 7-day score. Under it, a chip such as "Up 4 vs last week" compares it with the 7 days before.
  4. See what drives itUnder What's driving it, each signal you logged has a bar. Tap one to see what it measures and Where the number comes from, with a button to go log it.
  5. Reorder the sectionsTap Edit next to This week and drag sections such as How you feel and Vitals. Tap Done when finished.

What goes into the score

Each signal is turned into a number from 0 to 100 and averaged over the last 7 days, in the app's own terms:

  • Sleep: your logged sleep hours against an 8-hour target. 8 hours or more reads as 100. Hours can come from Lifestyle or from Apple Health or Health Connect.
  • Hydration: the water you logged each day against your daily water goal. Hitting the goal reads as 100.
  • Energy and Sleep quality: your own 1-10 ratings from the daily check-in.

The score is the plain average of the signals that have data. A signal you never log is left out, not counted as zero, and is hidden from the list.

Why appetite is not in the score

The daily check-in also asks about appetite, but appetite is not part of the score, because a higher appetite is not always better. For some people a smaller appetite is the goal.

The How you feel section shows your latest Mood, Energy and Stress ratings from the check-in.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Wellbeing show no score?+
The app only shows a score once you log sleep, water or a daily check-in. It never fills in a made-up number.
Does one bad day ruin my score?+
No. Each signal is averaged over the last 7 days, so one day counts for only part of it.
Is the Wellbeing score a medical measure?+
No. It is a summary of what you logged, to help you notice trends.
