How to read the Levels page

Dose Track for iPhone and Android · Updated

Short answer: Tap the round Dashboard button at the bottom of the screen and choose Levels. Pick a medication at the top. The ring shows an estimate of how much is in your system, worked out from the doses you logged and the medication's half-life. Below it are the Pharmacokinetics chart, your Consistency and a 7-day comparison.

Before you start: Every number on this page is an estimate the app calculates. It is not a blood test and can differ from what is really in your body.

Steps

  1. Open LevelsTap the round Dashboard button at the bottom of the screen, then tap Levels.
  2. Pick a medicationTap a medication in the row of pills at the top. Long-press a pill to change their order.
  3. Read the ringThe number in the ring is the estimated amount in system, in mg. The line under it says how that compares with your steady state, for example "80% of steady state". Next to it are Half-life, Steady state and Last dose.
  4. Change the chart rangeUnder Pharmacokinetics, tap Auto, 1d, 3d, 7d or 30d. Touch the line to see the estimate at a point in time.
  5. Check your consistencyThe Consistency section counts doses On time, Missed and Skipped, and lists Recent doses marked TAKEN or SKIPPED.
  6. Compare two compoundsUnder Active concentration, each card shows one compound over the last 7 days. Use the picker in a card header to choose which compound it shows.
  7. See the full historyAt the bottom, switch between the Activity and Logs tabs for that medication.

Where the numbers come from

Dose Track builds the curve from the amount and time of each dose you logged and the half-life stored for that medication. If you forget to log a dose, or log it at the wrong time, the estimate will be off too.

When a medication has no human data behind its half-life, the label reads Half-life (est.). For long-acting shots the ring can also say it includes what is still releasing from the injection site.

Treat Levels as a rough picture of timing, not a measurement. Do not change a dose because of it. Talk to your clinician, and use lab results for real numbers.

Why a medication is missing

Levels only lists medications in your protocol. If you have no protocol, the page says No medications in your protocol. Custom medications are left off on purpose, because the app has no checked half-life data for them. Some blends have no chart either.

Frequently asked questions

Is the in-system number exact?+
No. It is an estimate based on your logged doses and a stored half-life. It is not a lab result.
What does steady state mean on Levels?+
It is the average amount the app expects to stay in your system once you keep taking the same dose on the same schedule. The ring compares the current estimate with it.
Why is my custom medication not on Levels?+
Levels only covers medications with built-in half-life data. Custom medications are left off on purpose.
