Dose Track reminds you on your Mounjaro day, logs each weekly shot with its site, and counts what is left whether you use single-dose pens, vials or the 4-dose KwikPen. Each 2.5 mg step is recorded from the day it starts.
Per the FDA label (2.1), Mounjaro starts at 2.5 mg once weekly. If more glycemic control is needed, the dose goes up in 2.5 mg steps after at least 4 weeks on the current dose, through 5, 7.5, 10 and 12.5 mg, to a maximum of 15 mg once weekly in adults (10 mg in pediatric patients).
| When | Dose on the label | Label note |
|---|---|---|
| Weeks 1–4 | 2.5 mg once weekly | Label starting dosage |
| Weeks 5–8 | 5 mg once weekly | Earliest step-up: +2.5 mg after at least 4 weeks, if additional glycemic control is needed |
| Weeks 9–12 | 7.5 mg once weekly | Only if additional glycemic control is needed |
| Weeks 13–16 | 10 mg once weekly | Maximum dosage for pediatric patients 10 years and older |
| Weeks 17–20 | 12.5 mg once weekly | Adults only (pediatric maximum is 10 mg) |
| Week 21 onward | 15 mg once weekly | Adult maximum dosage |
In Dose Track, set Mounjaro to weekly on your day. Each 2.5 mg increase is a dose change recorded from its start date, so after a few months you can see exactly how many weeks you spent at 5, 7.5 or 10 mg.
Mounjaro comes three ways: single-dose pens (one shot each, 4 per carton), single-dose vials, and the multi-dose KwikPen that gives 4 fixed doses. The KwikPen is the one where counting matters most, because one pen lasts 4 weeks.

Each row is something worth writing down for Mounjaro, why it matters for this medicine, and what Dose Track does with it.
| What to track | Why it matters | In Dose Track |
|---|---|---|
| Shot day | The label gives Mounjaro once weekly at any time of day, with or without meals (2.2). | A weekly reminder on your day; logging on another day asks if it is a one-off or a new day. |
| 2.5 mg steps | Start at 2.5 mg for 4 weeks, then 5 mg; further 2.5 mg steps after at least 4 weeks, up to 15 mg (2.1). | Record each new dose from the date it starts; earlier shots keep their amounts. |
| Pens, vials or KwikPen doses left | Single-dose pens and vials are one shot each; a KwikPen holds 4 doses (3, 16.1). | Dose Track has the Mounjaro pen and KwikPen sizes from the label and takes off one dose per shot, with a run-out date. |
| Injection site | The label lists the abdomen or thigh, or the back of the upper arm when someone else injects, rotated each dose (2.2). | Each shot is logged with its site; the app suggests the next one and flags a site reused too soon. |
| HbA1c | Mounjaro is labeled for blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes. | Lab reports uploaded as a photo or PDF put HbA1c on your timeline next to the dose you were on. |
| Side effects | Nausea, diarrhea, decreased appetite and vomiting rose with dose in the label's trials (6.1). | Quick picks for GLP-1 side effects with a severity, against your dose step. |
| Reaction | Placebo (N=235) | Mounjaro 5 mg (N=237) | Mounjaro 10 mg (N=240) | Mounjaro 15 mg (N=241) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nausea | 4% | 12% | 15% | 18% |
| Diarrhea | 9% | 12% | 13% | 17% |
| Decreased appetite | 1% | 5% | 10% | 11% |
| Vomiting | 2% | 5% | 5% | 9% |
| Constipation | 1% | 6% | 6% | 7% |
| Dyspepsia | 3% | 8% | 8% | 5% |
| Abdominal pain | 4% | 6% | 5% | 5% |
Per the label, in the placebo-controlled pool the majority of reports of nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea occurred during dose escalation and decreased over time. Gastrointestinal adverse reactions overall occurred in 20.4% on placebo versus 37.1%, 39.6% and 43.6% on Mounjaro 5, 10 and 15 mg (6.1).
Dose Track has quick picks for the side effects people on GLP-1 medicines log most: nausea, constipation, diarrhea, reflux or heartburn, tiredness, low appetite, injection-site reaction and headache. You can type in anything else, set how bad it was, and see it next to the dose and the dose step you were on.
Mounjaro side effects from the FDA label
Per the label, a missed dose is given as soon as possible within 4 days (96 hours); if more than 4 days have passed, the missed dose is skipped and the next dose is given on the regular day. The weekly day can be changed if the two doses are at least 3 days (72 hours) apart. (2.1) Missed a Mounjaro dose.
In Dose Track a missed dose stands out in your history, so you can see the gap and count from the right day.
Dose Track is a tracking app, not medical advice. It records what you and your prescriber decide; it does not recommend doses. Check any dose change with your prescriber.
