Short answer: The Tymlos Medication Guide says that if you forget or cannot take Tymlos at your usual time, take it as soon as you can on that day. It also says not to take more than 1 injection in the same day. So a dose remembered the next day is not taken twice.
| Situation | What the label says |
|---|---|
| Schedule | 80 mcg once daily under the skin (2.1) |
| Forgot, same day | Take it as soon as you can that day (Medication Guide) |
| Most per day | One injection (Medication Guide) |
| Pen | Use for up to 30 days after first use, then discard (17) |
| Half-life | About 1 hour (12.3) |
The Medication Guide says: if you forget or cannot take Tymlos at your usual time, take it as soon as you can on that day. It also says the pen is set to give 1 dose with each injection, and not to take more than 1 injection in the same day.
Example: you usually inject at 9 p.m. and realize at 11 p.m. Under the label you can still inject that day. If you only notice the next morning, you take that day's single dose, not two.
Each pen holds 30 days of doses. The label says a pen can be used for up to 30 days after first use and then thrown away, even if some medicine is left (section 17). A missed day leaves an extra dose in the pen, but it does not extend the 30 days.
The Tymlos label does not say what to do after several missed days. That is a question for your prescriber.
Abaloparatide has a half-life of about 1 hour (section 12.3), so each dose acts on its own day.
