Reminders not showing up

Dose Track for iPhone and Android · Updated

Short answer: First send a test from Profile > Settings > Notifications > Send Test Notification. If the test does not appear, your phone is blocking Dose Track. If it does, check that the medication has a reminder time and that Scheduled dose reminders is on.

Steps

  1. Send a testGo to Profile, tap Settings, then Notifications. Scroll down and tap Send Test Notification.
  2. Check the app switchesOn the same page, make sure All Notifications and Scheduled dose reminders are on.
  3. Check the medicationOn Home, open the protocol's ... menu, tap Edit Protocol, and on Configure confirm each medication has a Reminder time, not No reminder.
  4. iPhone: allow notificationsOpen the iPhone Settings app, tap Notifications, tap Dose Track, and turn on Allow Notifications. Turn on Time Sensitive Notifications too.
  5. iPhone: check FocusIn Dose Track, turn on Time-Sensitive (iOS). In the iPhone Settings app, tap Focus, pick a Focus, tap Apps, and either add Dose Track under Allow Notifications From or turn on Time Sensitive Notifications.
  6. Android: allow notificationsOpen Settings, tap Notifications, then App notifications, find Dose Track and turn its notifications on. Menus differ a little between phone makers.
  7. Android: check Do Not DisturbDo Not Disturb hides reminders. Turn it off from Quick Settings, or under Modes > Do Not Disturb > notification filters, let Dose Track through.
  8. Android: check battery useDose Track asks to skip battery optimization at startup so Android does not stop it and drop reminders. If you declined, on a Pixel go to Settings > Apps > See all apps > Dose Track > App battery usage > Allow background usage.

Still missing reminders?

Open Dose Track once after changing phone settings, a time zone or the date. The app plans its reminders again each time it starts. Force-closing the app on Android can stop pending reminders until you open it again.

Frequently asked questions

The test notification works but dose reminders do not. Why?+
The phone is allowing notifications, so check Dose Track itself: Scheduled dose reminders must be on, and each medication needs a Reminder time in Edit Protocol.
Do I need to allow exact alarms on Android?+
Dose Track asks Android for exact timing. If the phone does not allow it, reminders still go out but can arrive a little late.
What does Time-Sensitive (iOS) do?+
It marks dose reminders as time-sensitive, so they can come through a Focus if you allow time-sensitive notifications for that Focus.
