How the math works

Same steps as the breakdown, with made-up numbers

  1. Doses per vial = vial size ÷ dose size. A 200 mg vial with 50 mg per injection gives 4 doses.
  2. Cost per dose = vial cost ÷ doses per vial. A $40 vial gives $10 per dose.
  3. Weekly cost = cost per dose × doses per week. Twice weekly is 2 doses, so $20 a week.
  4. Monthly cost uses 4.33 weeks per month on average: $20 × 4.33 = about $86.60. Yearly uses 52 weeks.

The numbers above only show the arithmetic. They are not a dose or a price guide.

Tracking what you really spend

The calculator is for quick what-if numbers and does not save anything. To track money you have actually spent on your vials, use Expenses on the Tracker tab. See how to track expenses.
