How to store Viagra, Cialis, Stendra and vardenafil

Quoted from the US label · Unopened vs in use · Travel · Sources · Reviewed

Short answer: All four are room-temperature tablets. Viagra and Cialis: 77°F (25°C), excursions 59-86°F (15-30°C). Stendra: 68-77°F (20-25°C), excursions 59-86°F, and protect from light. Generic vardenafil (Teva): 68-77°F (20-25°C), with no excursion range stated. None of the labels gives a fridge instruction. Sources: each label, section 16, and the patient leaflets.

What do the four labels say?

Viagra (sildenafil), Cialis (tadalafil), Stendra (avanafil) and vardenafil are PDE5 inhibitor tablets for erectile dysfunction. This page uses the current Teva vardenafil label; other generics carry their own.

Stendra is the only one of the four with a light rule: section 16 says “Protect from light” and the patient leaflet says “Keep STENDRA out of the light.” The Cialis leaflet gives the wider 59-86°F (15-30°C) range rather than a 77°F target.

Can you carry a tablet in a wallet or pill case?

The labels do not mention pill cases or wallets. They give only the temperature (and, for Stendra, light), so the same ranges apply wherever you keep a tablet. A parked car in summer can pass 86°F (30°C) quickly.

For timing and doses, see the Viagra, Cialis, Stendra and vardenafil dosing schedules, and Cialis daily vs as needed. Comparisons: tadalafil vs sildenafil, Stendra vs Viagra and vardenafil vs sildenafil.

How do you travel with them?

No ice pack is needed. Keep the tablets in the labeled pharmacy bottle in your carry-on, within 59-86°F (15-30°C) where the label allows excursions, and out of a hot car. Keep Stendra out of strong light.
