Short answer: Store Caverject 20 mcg vials at 68-77°F (20-25°C). Caverject 40 mcg vials are refrigerated until dispensed, then kept at or below 77°F (25°C) for up to 3 months or until expiry, whichever comes first. Mixed solution is used within 24 hours, kept at or below 77°F and not refrigerated or frozen. Each vial is used once. Source: Caverject label, section 16 and Patient Information.
Section 16: “Store CAVERJECT 40 mcg vials between 2°C to 8°C (36° to 46°F) until dispensed. Once dispensed, vials should be stored at or below 25°C (77°F) for up to 3 months or until the expiration date, whichever occurs first.” For both strengths: “The reconstituted solution should be used within 24 hours when stored at or below 25°C (77°F) and not refrigerated or frozen.”

No. Section 17: “Use each CAVERJECT vial only once and discard after use. Use a new vial of CAVERJECT for each dose.” The 24-hour limit is for mixed solution waiting to be injected, not for keeping leftovers. Discard any mixed solution with particles or discoloration.
Only bacteriostatic water for injection is used to mix Caverject; the diluent, syringes and needles are not supplied in the carton. Caverject Impulse has its own label and is not covered here. See Caverject side effects and the Caverject dosing schedule.
Once dispensed, both Caverject strengths are kept at or below 77°F (25°C), so they need no ice pack. Keep them out of a hot car, and keep track of the 3-month limit on 40 mcg vials.
