Short answer: Store Edex cartridges at 77°F (25°C), with excursions allowed to 59-86°F (15-30°C), and avoid temperature extremes. When traveling, do not pack them in checked luggage or leave them in a closed car. Mix a cartridge only when you are ready to inject, use it immediately, and discard any solution left in it. How Supplied: “Store at 25°C (77°F); excursions permitted between 15°C - 30°C (59°F - 86°F).” Patient Information: “As with any drug product, extremes in temperature should be avoided. When traveling, do not store in checked luggage during air travel or leave in a closed automobile.”

Stability: “The single-dose, dual-chamber cartridge should be reconstituted only when it is certain that the patient is ready to administer the drug.” One chamber holds alprostadil powder and the other 0.9% sodium chloride; they mix inside the reusable Edex injection device. The label says the mixed solution should not be stored.
Each cartridge and needle is used once. The injection device and carrying case are reusable. See Edex side effects and the Edex dosing schedule.
The Edex label itself covers travel: keep cartridges in your carry-on, not checked luggage, and do not leave them in a closed car. They need no ice pack.
