Short answer: Store Azmiro at 59-77°F (15-25°C), with excursions from 36°F to 86°F (2-30°C) permitted, in the carton to protect it from light. Vials and prefilled syringes are single-dose, and any drug left in a vial is discarded. The label says a healthcare provider gives the injection. Source: Azmiro label, section 16.
Section 16: “Store at 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F); excursions permitted to 2°C to 30°C (36°F to 86°F). Store product in carton to protect contents from light.”
| Form | Storage | After use |
|---|---|---|
| 1 mL single-dose vial, 200 mg/mL | 59-77°F (15-25°C), excursions 36-86°F; in carton | Discard any unused portion (2.4) |
| 1 mL single-dose prefilled syringe, 200 mg/mL | 59-77°F (15-25°C), excursions 36-86°F; in carton | Discard the syringe in a sharps container (2.5) |
Section 2.5 says the prefilled syringe is given as an intramuscular injection by a healthcare professional only, and only for 200 mg doses. The Medication Guide says your healthcare provider will inject Azmiro deep into the muscle of your buttock. Before use, the solution is inspected for particles and discoloration (section 2.4).
Azmiro is a different product from Depo-Testosterone, although both are testosterone cypionate; section 2.1 says injectable testosterone products are not substitutable milligram for milligram. Compare the Depo-Testosterone storage page, and see missed an Azmiro shot.
