1-Testosterone (17-beta-hydroxy-5-alpha-androst-1-en-3-one), also sold as DHB or dihydroboldenone, is a synthetic anabolic steroid closely related to DHT. It was often sold labeled as a "prohormone", and it has never been approved as a drug.
Also known as: DHB, dihydroboldenone, Δ1-dihydrotestosterone, 1-Testo.
For 1-testosterone, there is no approved product and no published human trial, so there are no label strengths or studied human amounts.
1-Testosterone has no FDA approval that we could find. Anabolic steroids are Schedule III controlled substances in the US, and this one is named in the federal list (21 CFR 1308.13(f)). Having it without a valid prescription is illegal. (It is listed there as Δ1-dihydrotestosterone, a.k.a. "1-testosterone".) It is on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List as an anabolic agent, banned in and out of competition.
In a study by an anti-doping research center (Friedel 2006), 1-testosterone bound strongly and selectively to the androgen receptor. In animal tests, it grew the prostate, seminal vesicles and an androgen-sensitive muscle as strongly as testosterone propionate at the same dose, and unlike testosterone propionate it increased liver weight. The authors concluded that it is a typical anabolic steroid and that side effects typical of the class should be expected.
There is no FDA label for people, so there are no label warnings to quote; the harms below are the ones the cited sources report. We found no human trial of 1-testosterone that we could cite.
We could not find a published human half-life or time to peak, so we do not list one. Figures quoted online usually come from animal studies or computer models.
