Short answer: Store Delestrogen vials at room temperature, 68-77°F (20-25°C). The label says cold storage may cause some crystals to separate out, which redissolve readily on warming. It also says to use a dry needle and syringe, since a wet one may make the solution cloudy. No fridge is needed. Source: Delestrogen label, Storage and Dosage and Administration.
Storage: “Store between 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F).” The Patient Information says the same. Delestrogen comes in 5 mL multiple dose vials of 10, 20 and 40 mg/mL (How Supplied).
| Question | Label answer |
|---|---|
| Temperature | 68-77°F (20-25°C) |
| Vials | 5 mL multiple dose vials, 10, 20 or 40 mg/mL |
| Cold storage | May cause crystals to separate; they redissolve readily on warming |
| Before use | Inspect; the solution is clear, colorless to yellow |
| Needle and syringe | Use a dry needle and syringe |
| Time limit after first use | Not stated in the label |
Crystals: Dosage and Administration says storage at low temperatures may result in the separation of some crystalline material which redissolves readily on warming.
Cloudy: the label says a wet needle or syringe may cause the solution to become cloudy, but that this does not affect the potency of the material. It also says to inspect the vial for particles and color before each use.
The label does not give a time limit for a vial after the first dose is drawn, beyond the expiration date. The 10 mg/mL strength is in sesame oil with chlorobutanol, and the 20 and 40 mg/mL strengths are in castor oil with benzyl benzoate and benzyl alcohol. Ask your pharmacist if you are unsure about a vial.

Delestrogen is stored at room temperature, 68-77°F (20-25°C). Cold can make crystals form, so keeping it away from ice packs avoids that.
