Short answer: Zegalogue is a single rescue dose for severe low blood sugar, not a scheduled medicine. The label dose is 0.6 mg injected under the skin for adults and children 6 and older, given as soon as severe low blood sugar is recognized. Emergency help is called right away, and if there is no response after 15 minutes a second 0.6 mg dose from a new device may be given.
This is what the FDA label says. Follow your prescriber. Your prescriber may use a different dose or pace than the label's standard schedule.
What Zegalogue is approved for: Zegalogue is an antihypoglycemic agent approved to treat severe low blood sugar (severe hypoglycemia) in adults and children aged 6 years and above with diabetes (section 1).

Zegalogue is injected under the skin of the lower abdomen, buttocks, thigh or outer upper arm as soon as severe low blood sugar is recognized. Because a person with severe hypoglycemia needs others to help, the label says the people around them are told about Zegalogue and its Instructions For Use (section 2.1).
It comes as a ready-to-use 0.6 mg/0.6 mL single-dose autoinjector or prefilled syringe. Each device holds one dose and is not reused. The solution should be clear and colorless (sections 2.1 and 3).
The table below is the label's schedule, from the Dosage and Administration section. Numbers are copied exactly; the section is in brackets.
| Who | Dose under the skin | If no response after 15 minutes |
|---|---|---|
| Adults and pediatric patients aged 6 years and older | 0.6 mg | An additional 0.6 mg dose of ZEGALOGUE from a new device may be administered |
Emergency help is called immediately after the dose is given.
Once the person has responded, they are given carbohydrates by mouth to restore liver glycogen and prevent low blood sugar coming back.
Zegalogue is refrigerated at 2 C to 8 C (36 F to 46 F), kept away from the cooling element and not frozen. It can be kept at room temperature, 20 C to 25 C (68 F to 77 F), for up to 12 months, with the date written on the protective case, and is not put back in the refrigerator after that.
Safety and effectiveness have not been established in children younger than 6.
The Zegalogue label has no missed-dose rule because Zegalogue is not taken on a schedule; it is a single rescue dose used when severe low blood sugar happens. The label's only repeat-dose rule is that if there is no response after 15 minutes, another 0.6 mg dose from a new device may be given while waiting for emergency help (sections 2.1 and 2.2).
In Dose Track you set up Zegalogue as a protocol with the dose and schedule your prescriber gave you. A protocol can hold dose steps, each with its own dose and length in days or weeks, so a step-up plan like the one on the label can be entered once and the app moves to the next step on its own. Reminders follow the schedule, and every dose is logged with the date and time, so you can see which step you are on and when your last dose was. The app follows what you enter; it does not choose or change a dose.
