Short answer: Both are once-daily insulin glargine. Toujeo is 300 units/mL, approved for adults and children 6 and older.1 Basaglar is 100 units/mL, for children and adults with type 1 and adults with type 2.2 The doses are not one to one: Basaglar's label starts people coming from glargine 300 units/mL at 80% of that dose. Neither label compares the two directly.

Basaglar's label says people coming from once-daily insulin glargine 300 units/mL start at 80% of that dose.2 Toujeo's label says people on a once-daily long-acting insulin start at the same unit dose, but unit for unit Toujeo lowers glucose less than Lantus (another glargine 100 units/mL), so a higher Toujeo dose is expected. Its full effect may take at least 5 days, and the dose is changed no more often than every 3 to 4 days.1
Both are injected once a day at the same time, are never given into a vein or pump, and are never mixed with other insulins. Neither label gives a missed-dose rule. Severe-low numbers above come from each label's own trials. These numbers come from separate trials with different people, lengths and methods, so they are not a head-to-head comparison.
