Who handles Zoladex?

Zoladex 3.6 mg is a single-use syringe. Section 2 says it is given under the skin of the abdomen every 28 days, using aseptic technique under the supervision of a physician. The label has no patient leaflet. If you carry it to the clinic yourself, keep it in its sealed pouch, at or below 77°F (25°C).

This page covers the 3.6 mg implant only; Zoladex 10.8 mg has its own label. See Zoladex side effects, the Zoladex dosing schedule, Lupron Depot vs Zoladex and the goserelin page.

How do you travel with it?

Zoladex is a room-temperature product, so it needs no ice pack. Keep it in its sealed pouch, at or below 77°F (25°C), and out of a hot car.

  • TSA allows medically necessary liquids over 3.4 oz in carry-on bags; declare them at the checkpoint for inspection.
  • Unused syringes and pen needles are allowed when they travel with the injectable medicine.
  • Ice packs and gel packs that keep medicine cool may go through frozen, partly frozen or melted.
  • Keep medicine in your carry-on, not checked luggage, where you cannot control the temperature. Do not let it touch an ice pack directly, since most labels say do not freeze.
