Short answer: RAD-140 has a half-life of about 45 hours. People vary, so treat these as estimates.
RAD-140 (testolone) is an oral selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM), a non-steroidal compound developed by Radius Health to act on androgen receptors. It has been tested in people only in one small cancer trial and is not FDA approved.
Also known as: RAD140, Testolone.
There is no approved product. The only published human trial gave 50, 100 or 150 mg once a day to 22 women with advanced breast cancer, and found 100 mg a day was the highest dose they tolerated (LoRusso 2022). It was not a trial in healthy people or for muscle. These are trial protocols, not personalized advice; confirm any dosing with your prescriber.
RAD-140 is not FDA approved; it is an investigational drug. FDA says SARMs are unapproved drugs that cannot be legally marketed in the US as dietary supplements or drugs, and lists risks including liver injury and acute liver failure, a higher risk of heart attack or stroke, and effects on fertility. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) names it on its 2026 Prohibited List as a SARM under "other anabolic agents" (S1.2), banned in and out of competition.
Its developers described it in 2011 as a potent SARM taken by mouth, tested in animal models (Miller 2011). In the first human trial (LoRusso 2022), in women with heavily treated metastatic breast cancer, the most common side effects were raised liver enzymes (AST in 59% and ALT in 45% of patients) and raised bilirubin, plus vomiting, dehydration, and less appetite and weight. 16 of 22 patients had a grade 3 or 4 side effect.
Outside trials, doctors have reported liver injury in people who took RAD-140 bought as a supplement. In one case (Leung 2022), a 24-year-old man developed jaundice after 5 weeks of RAD-140; it got better after he stopped.
In the first human trial (LoRusso 2022), RAD-140 had a half-life of 44.7 hours, which the authors said supported once-daily dosing. That trial was in women with advanced breast cancer, not healthy people. The paper's summary gives no time to peak, so we do not list one.
